Brooke comes up with some pretty funny things - sometimes intentionally, sometimes not. I'll share one of each from the past couple of weeks. Please don't bring up these stories to her... she will not be happy if she finds out I posted them.
***Intentionally funny:
Brooke: Mom, can you talk to me and pretend I'm an old woman?
Me: I guess - you mean just talk to you like we're having a conversation and you're old?
Brooke: Yeah... just talk to me about anything and I'll be an old lady.
Me: Okay - Old Lady, do you want to watch the.....
No sooner had I started the conversation with her did she shut her eyes and start snoring.
Me: What are you doing?
Brooke: (giggles and snores)
Me: Brooke - what are you doing?
Brooke: You know, old ladies fall asleep a lot even when you're talking.
A few minutes later, Brooke was in front of the TV with a light saber she got trick-or-treating and was using the light saber as a cane....
Jeff: Brooke - sit down so we can all see.
Brooke: Hold on young man, I need to find my dog. Georgie!!! Georgie!!! Come back here, dog!
Jeff: What?!?
Brooke: I'm being an old man whose dog ran away.
***Unintentionally funny:
Setting - we are doing our morning routine, all making lunches and getting ready for school/work. Kara & Jeff are standing at the table making sandwiches. Brooke is trying to decide what she wants for lunch. Brooke starts looking at the bread bag Jeff has... Jeff eats wheat bread, the rest of us usually eat white bread.
Brooke: Dad, is this wheat?
Jeff: Yes.
Brooke: Can someone get me the un-wheat?

Going Bowling (for real)
Here's my last post (for today) and then I'm caught up (I think)...
The girls had some free bowling certificates to use up before 12/31. They love bowling on their cousins' Wii, so we thought they'd love to go bowling for real. They ended up having a great time. Kara won a game and Brooke won a game (the best we could hope for since either one would have had a fit if they did not win at least once).
The girls both used 6 pound balls - and they both struggled with that. I'm glad I have such strong girls :)

Someone please help me fix the spacing on these posts (if you know how)... I keep hitting enter to add more spaces and they still come out wrong. :-(
Christmas Eve at Aunt Sandy's
Most years on Christmas Eve we spend some time over at Aunt Sandy's and see the Lopez side of the family...

Happy Birthday, Kari!
I can't believe my baby sister is 17! Now if she'd only get her driver's license....
Some pictures from our fiesta at In-n-Out...

From the Bowl Game
I'm trying to catch up on some posts that I had good intentions of posting (but didn't for whatever reason).
Even though BYU didn't win, we still had a good time in Nevada. I'm glad we stayed in Primm and avoided all the drunken Arizona fans in Vegas. I have never seen a collection of drunker people than the Arizona students that showed up for the game. It was terrible. And cold. Still very glad we went!
The Pre-game Tailgate party tent (where we ate yummy BBQ):
Here are a couple of pictures of Jeff & I while we were waiting for the game to start:
My friend Irazmi (an Arizona alumnus) and me at the game - Jeff (not pictured) was probably not in the mood for pictures at this point:
