guess we'll have to get used to seeing all kinds of cactus around! This purple cactus outside our hotel was pretty! (well, as pretty as a cactus can be!)

Trips to Arizona - part 1 of 2

(Warning... LOTS of pictures!)

This summer has brought the chance to travel quite a bit back and forth between Arizona and Utah looking for jobs and places to live. During these trips, we were able to see a lot of new places and have a lot of fun. Travelling with a dog does not open opportunities to go inside very many places, so we had to be creative and find some recreation outside.

Across from the hotel we stayed in (in Fountain Hills - northeast corner of Scottsdale) was an awesome park with a splash pad and a giant fountain in a lake. That was our favorite hotel to stay in (because it was the nicest and the cheapest), however it was really far from everywhere we were looking to move, so we didn't stay there more than 2 nights.

The next hotel was in Tempe very close to ASU. The hotel was adequate, but we were upstairs and there was no grass for the dog to use for the bathroom.

The last hotel we stayed in while we came to visit before we moved was in Mesa. Unfortunately I booked this hotel before I knew it was in a not very nice area of Mesa (and the pictures on the website were NOT of the actual inside of the rooms). But it had a huge grassy area for the dog to use, and we were able to stay long enough to find a nice house, get approved, and sign the lease! So happy times were had even though it was gross!

the kids and the dog scared them pretty well

I'm an RN!

I passed my license exam! After a lot of hard work and studying, it all came down to a little more than 100 quesions that honestly had not much to do with nursing. Oh well! At least it's over and I'll never have to take that gruelling thing again!

Now, to find a job....

Ferron Trip

We had the opportunity to visit Ferron one last time before leaving Utah. Jeff's uncle Paul passed away, and we took a day trip up to Emery county, Utah for the funeral. We were able to see many of Jeff's relatives and visit with his parents for a few hours before heading back home. It was nice to see everyone - we hadn't seen most of them since the family reunion that side had when Jeff and I first got married (so it had been almost 13 years).

Below are some pictures I took while we were in Ferron at the cemetery and around town.
