I guess being thankful didn't last very long. I'll try better tomorrow.
I lost the diamond in my wedding ring sometime tonight!!!! It's nowhere to be found. We've torn apart the sink drains and the couches, checked the carpet (everywhere on the floor). It's gone. I took the remainder of my ring off for the first time in over ten years tonight. It's very strange to be without this ring on. So very sad (and angry and disappointed). :(

to be honest, it's not specifically listed on our insurance policy. Our policy would cover it but we'd still have a deductible. The stone more than likely didn't cost more than our deductible would be and it's not worth putting in a claim. If it was the whole ring I'd consider it. I'm much calmer now and eventually we'll probably replace the stone (somewhere way down the line - not in a hurry at this point). Maybe we'll get a plain band or something in the meantime - nothing fancy. I would probably have to take it off soon anyway since I'm starting nursing school in January. I'm not sure if that ring would work out with gloves on and off and stuff. It stuck up and got caught on things.
oh no :( time for an upgrade... but I hear you on the gloves thing. I have a few friends that are in a medical/dental profession & they have a band with diamonds & then their solitare is for non-working parts of the day
My mom did this when I was 2 or 3. She vaccuumed the house, and then carefully cut open the vaccuum bag, and sifted through it until she found the stone.
Irazmi - I like the upgrade angle, although it'll have to wait! :)
Thanks for the suggestion, Brandy! I will definitely look through the vaccuum before I dump it out (ours is bagless). I'm also checking the lint trap in the dryer carefully too in case it came off when I was doing laundry.
