So glad that this ward had a talent show! We just got home from it (and I forgot my camera, so no pics or movies)...
But Jeff & I are sooooo proud of our two little hula hoopers! And they even hula'd together. Brooke (this week) learned how to walk with the hoop, spin, and do jumps, so they were pretty close to evenly matched I thought in skills. Until during the talent show when Kara busts out some new moves... she has taught herself to travel the hoop down to her knees and back up to her armpit level. Crazy kid! Oh, no big deal, I'm not nervous, I'll just bust out moves I've never tried!

Miss Smartypants
We know our kids are smart... but this has been a big brain week for Kara!
First, she received honorable mention at the science fair this week...
Now, she won 2nd place in the Geography Bee for her grade! :) If the first place winner can't attend, Kara will be representing her school at the regional Geography Bee!

Happy St Patrick's Day!
And on this day we mark 1 year since we adopted our puppy, Amber. She was just barely 1 (appx) when we got her, so we have adopted March 17th as her birthday too. So happy birthday to Amber, our crazy 2-year-old puppy.
And in other happy news, today was the science fair at the elementary school. Kara entered and won honorable mention. Here she is with her medal:

Dr. Seuss Week
Last week was Dr. Seuss week at school for the girls... The first day("I Can Read with my Eyes Shut day") all the kids were to bring in their favorite Dr. Seuss book to read. Tuesday was "Green Eggs & Ham day" and they were to wear green from head to toe. Wednesday was "The 500 Hats... and Foot Book day" where the kids wore crazy hats, socks, and shoes. Thursday was "Whoville Hair Day" (which Brooke did not want to participate in). Friday was "I'm Not Going to Get Up day" and the kids wore pjs and brought in a favorite pillow and blanket for a read-a-thon parade. Fun week!
Here are some (dark) pictures of Kara's hair on Whoville Hair day:

Spring Break!
It's Spring Break. The first day off from school and I'm already waiting for school to start again. The girls are going stir crazy and driving each other (and me) crazy!
We just returned from a fun weekend trip to Salt Lake City to visit family... thanks to Aunt Katie for coming to puppy-sit so we could go!
While we were there we saw the newest temple in Utah: Oquirrh Mountain. Some pictures from that day:
